Feathersmith was born from the passion we have here at Feathersmith for fly fishing. We treat all of our flies as we would a piece of jewellery and look at each as a miniature work of art - it's all about quality materials and attention to detail.
All of our Feathersmith kits include access to a full step-by-step tying video, along with associated videos on how to get the best when fishing your finished fly.
For this next in our series of kits, we are focussing on a technique, rather than a specific fly. We've based this kit around a really successful fly fishing technique which is used all around the world as a method to catch fish when you cannot see any rising, the Klink n Dink (or Duo or New Zealand Style). Essentially it's a way of fishing both a dry fly and a nymph at the same time, allowing you to search all areas of the water - to find the fish!
To fish this method requires a specific dry fly - one with a tippet ring tied into the tail, this allows you to suspend a nymph under the fly without compromising the hook point on the dry fly, even when using barbless hooks

With the help of some professional fly tyers, we've identified some really beautiful and unique fly patterns, gathered together all of the materials from world-class and well-respected manufacturers (like Semperfli) and then created a kit which allows you to tie flies for a specific technique - 40 flies in total.
Here's what's included when you purchase one of our pattern-specific kits:
- A kit full of world-class materials - more than enough to tie all 40 flies in the kit
- Video tutorials of how to tie each variation of the fly - presented by a professional fly tyer
- Information on how to use and fish the finished fly
The other piece of advice you will always hear is "It's more expensive to tie your own flies than it is to buy them." - not anymore it isn't, our Feathersmith kits allow you to tie a stunning pattern with the very best materials available - all for less than £1 per fly - now that is great value.
